Case should be registered against CM for the murder of Sidhu Moosewal-: Majithia

Chandigarh, May 3 (Khabar khass bureau)

Former minister and senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia today demanded chief minister Bhagwant Mann and the latter’s advisor Baltej Mann be booked after the Punjab Advocate General’s admission in the Supreme Court that noted singer Sidhu Moosewala had been killed because his security had been withdrawn by the State government.

In a statement here, Mr Bikram Majithia said Advocate General Gurminder Singh Gary made this admission during the hearing of a case in the Supreme Court in which the Punjab government was contesting the Punjab and Haryana high court’s decision calling for reopening of the road in front of the chief minister’s residence here.

The SAD leader said the State’s Advocate General stated that Sidhu Moosewala was killed within two days of the withdrawal of his security cover besides citing an attack by a rocket propelled grenade on the Punjab Police intelligence headquarter to substantiate the State’s argument that the road in front of the chief minister’s residence should remain closed.

Mr Majithia demanded a case be registered against both the chief minister who reduced Moosewala’s security as well as the CM’s advisor Baltej Pannu who made this fact public. “Now the State has officially admitted what Moosewala’s parents and Punjabis at large have been stating all along”.

The SAD leader also appealed to Punjabis to agitate to ensure justice to Sidhu Moosewala, saying the chief minister had not only reduced the singer’s security but had also allowed dreaded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, whose gang had killed Moosewala, to hold an interview from jail to gloat about the kill. “Now it is also clear the chief minister alone is responsible for the breakdown of the law and order situation in Punjab”, Mr Majithia added.
